Crack filling extends pavement life by minimizing crack growth and protecting asphalt from base failure. Parking lots with cracks greater than a quarter inch (1/4"), crack filling is used against pavement deterioration by maintaining pavement to prevent debris like sand, stone and dirt from entering openings referred as "cracks" in pavement surfaces. There are many types of cracks that develop in pavement surfaces - reflective, block, slippage, joint, edge and alligator.  However, not all cracks can be cured with crack filling.  But, with proper care crack filling will prevent problems from continuing or may occur in the future.
